Northern Ireland’s first and only menswear fashion showcase, MAN TIME is set to return on Sunday June 9th in the modern and luxurious surroundings of the Radisson Blu Hotel. Situated in the heart of Belfast’s City Centre in the revitalized Gasworks area, the Radisson Blu is the perfect venue for a manpacked Spring/Summer catwalk event.

Now in its third season following a sold out debut show in conjunction with London Collections: Men last year and a successful Autumn/Winter follow up for a monumental Movember show at Belfast’s City Hall, MAN TIME is well on its way to cementing itself among the fashion calendar of Northern Ireland’s trend savvy gents and gentlewomen alike.

“Our Events NI are delighted to be taking the Man Time experience to the new and stylish venue of the Filini Restaurant. We are all about supporting local businesses and we can’t wait to see our Man Time models strut their stuff in Northern Ireland’s finest menswear collections at this top, stylish, City Centre location.”  – Kerrie Man (Our Events NI Director)

Opening the very first MAN TIME to phenomenal response last year was Belfast’s very own luxury designer hotspot CRUISE. Returning to the MAN TIME runway this Spring/Summer with nothing but the very finest apparel in premium, high-end menswear. Recently refreshed and rejuvenated for the ultimate luxury fashion experience at their Victoria Square ground floor store, CRUISE house the definitive and essential styles for the modern man. From Gucci to Dolce & Gabbana, to Lanvin and Vivienne Westwood, CRUISE  prep Northern Ireland’s style savvy guys in the world’s leading and most sought after fashion collections. A personal must-see for any fashion forward gent this Spring/Summer.

Other leading retailers on board include MAN TIME favourites GUESS and CLOCKWORK with welcomed newcomers from Portadown based STATEMENT MENSWEAR, Sprucefield’s flagship M&S store and the Newtonards run STREETLIFE. Bringing together top trends and looks from an assortment of exciting and imaginative brands, displaying formalwear, casual wear, street wear and urban wear in all shades and styles.

MAN TIME will also play host to some of Northern Ireland’s most talented and vibrant individual creatives. Local designers Roseanna McReynolds and Sean Henry will be showcasing. Roseanna launches a bone structured collection of unisex designs from her independent and home-grown GOOD CREATURES label. With Sean Henry mixing jersey and fine knits for his VAN DER SIMON VDS menswear designs. Stylist and FashionCREEP! founder Jamie Russell will craft ten looks for the modern man as Lewis Cameron, the Editor of Beyond Man (Northern Ireland’s First and Only Men’s Style website) will also be creating ten looks. Expect catwalk translated trends packed full of sheer, monochrome, studs, heavy prints and androgynous themes throughout.

Colour Popping Nails for Summer with Maybelline Colour Show and Elegant Touch Nail Wraps!

I have created this fun, colour popping nail design for you. You can alter the base coat to suit your own preference and match what you are wearing.

colorama 3

Following a base coat, I applied Maybelline Colour Show Nail Varnish. I love this polish, not only is it runway inspired and guaranteed to be on trend, but it’s also formulated with a gel base so it lasts quite some time with no chipping.

The colour pigment in the product is great and considering the RRP is only £3.99 you can well afford to buy a few. In fact, Superdrug is actually doing a 3 for 2 offer on these varnishes so you are sure to grab yourself a great bargain!

Following my second coat of Maybelline Colour Show Nail Varnish I applied these gorgeous Candy Sprinkles Nail Wraps. These particular nail wraps are by Elegant Touch.

I love them because they are transparent between the bling. So you can change the look entirely by selecting different colours. In this pack you get 18 wraps and they can be used on both fingers and toes. The pack comes with an instruction leaflet and a buffer. To be honest, you don’t really need an instruction leaflet, they are super easy to apply. You simply peel and stick then buff off the excess wrap in a downward motion at the end of your nail.

You can pick these products up everywhere! Just pop along to the likes of Boots, Superdrug, Tesco, Asda or Newlook and you will find these wraps. Click here for a full list of stockists.

This look takes about ten minutes and you are complete. You can add a clear top coat to ensure longevity of your nail art.

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them?

Dress of the Month ~ May

My current favourite dress is the show-stopping Chrystelle! This is not the gown for a timid bride! Chrystelle makes such a statement that you need to wear her with confidence and attitude. She is such a fun and girly princess gown, and to wear her well you definitely need a personality to match!

Chrystelle VSM7142

She features a sweetheart neckline, a pleated organza bodice which fits long onto the hips, a lace up back and gorgeous chunky Swarovski crystal embellishment at the waist. The very full skirt is made up of hundreds of curls of organza cascading into a very long train.

Since there is so much fabric in the skirt this gown is best when worn with a hooped petticoat underneath. The addition of a hoop won’t make the skirt fuller (unless you chose a full skirted petticoat) but it will make it easier to walk and manoeuvre without the interference of fabric collapsing between your feet. One of my pet hates is to see a bride struggling to walk in her dress, especially on the all-important walk down the aisle, I prefer it to look like she is gliding down the aisle and the addition of a petticoat definitely helps to achieve this effect.  Since there is so much skirt you do need to consider things like the kind of wedding car you are having and also be aware that trips to the bathroom will definitely need assistance.

The frothy layers of ruffled frills make such a fun and extravagant statement that I absolutely love it when girls chose to try on Chrystelle! She’s a gown that oven gets overlooked on our rails, possibly because she takes up so much room! But once you try her on magic happens!

This gown works fantastically on tall and curvy girls, but more petite girls can make this gown work with careful alterations of the skirt volume.

If you love the look of this wedding dress be brave and get ready for people to talk about your wedding dress!

Festival Hair Guide

Whether you are heading to Leeds, Reading or embracing the mud at Glastonbury this summer, here are a few hair-inspiration looks from to help you look as glamorous (as possible) and have the time of your life at this year’s festivals…Beautyworks Flower Braided Head Band

Perfect Plaits
Fishtail plaits, skinny plaits and plait headbands will always remain as festival hair staples, and the good news is that the look is so quick and easy to create – ideal for getting your hair look sorted in the tent! At Pauls Hair World, we love the Beauty Works Flower Braided Headband – with a classic plaited design, this headband also features colourful flower detailing, simply add over curled or waved hair for instant hippy chic style.

Beachy Waves
Nothing says festival chic quite like flowing waves. To pull off the look yourself, style your hair into loose waves with a waving iron – once you are at the festival, make sure you keep those waves refreshed with a regular blast of dry shampoo and extra hold hairspray.

Ombre Cool
Ombre was popular last summer, and with festival-goers embracing the look yet again it seems that the dip dye trend is still reigning high! If you don’t fancy braving the bleach, you can achieve the ombre look temporarily by clipping in some American Dream Quickfix Dip Dye Clip-in Hair Extensions. In an 18” length, these colourful ombre extensions can be simply clipped in for festival favourite dip dye hair in an instant.

Make sure your hair is festival-ready this summer by checking out hair extensions, hair accessories and hair styling tools available to buy online at Pauls Hair World.
