Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Tokyo: House of Holland AW15

I wasn’t long back from the amazing designs of Milan Fashion Week when I was offered the opportunity to travel to MBFW Tokyo as part of the AOFM Pro Makeup Team to work on the AW15 Showing from House of Holland! As you can imagine I jumped at the chance.

So I thought I would take a few moments to share some of the images with you. I LOVE Henry Hollands designs and he’s such a lovely guy too which just tops it all off.

Milan Fashion Week AW15 Makeup Trends

I had the pleasure of working on the makeup team at a few of the shows at Milan Fashion Week this season and wanted to share some of the images with you. The collections and makeup were all totally different for each designer, but equally as beautiful.

No Mascara is the New Mascara for AW14 according to London Fashion Week

I had the pleasure of flying over to work at London Fashion Week at the weekend. What can I say – IT ROCKS! The level of organisation and sheer beauty was phenomenal.

One of the shows I was working on was the Bernard Chandran AW14 Show. The designs were edgy, sexy and really packed a punch. They were mostly leather which just oozed sex appeal. The collection was designed with a masculine edge which delivers an element of power to these designs. AND THE BOOTS…. Do I need to mention those boots?! #Want #Need

I was there as part of Nora Nona’s Makeup Team! Boy is she a born leader and a pleasure to work with. She is a woman who knows exactly what she wants and she has a beautiful way of making it happen.

Across the different shows which I worked on, there was one common denominator. Nude on Nude on Nude!  AW14 is all about the flawless nude skin, which also meant – NO MASCARA! I have to admit, I did have a mini heart attack at the thought of models going on the catwalk with no mascara. I am a big mascara fan, I think it really changes the whole look of your makeup when you add it in. But I have to say, the results were flawless. It takes a lot of time to create a nude makeup fit for catwalk and I admit that when it was done, I didn’t even miss or notice that the mascara wasn’t there. It was all about contouring and skin!

Another trend on the AW14 Catwalk was dewy skin and I don’t mean the odd bit of shine on the cheek bones. Light reflecting creams and facial oils were in full swing on the catwalks of London Fashion Week. I worked with Nicola Moore on the Tessa Edwards AW14 show as well and the idea was to almost make the skin look like plastic. It was glossy all over – Usually this is a big no no in terms of makeup, but on the Catwalks of London – It worked!

Tessa Edwards designs were a big contrast to those of Bernard Chandran, but stunning none the less.  From pleats, metallic’s and monochrome the Tessa Edwards AW14 show captured the biggest trends this year but with a twist.

So if you want to know what the up-coming trend in terms of Makeup for AW14 – It’s Nude on Nude! But remember, its nude with a punch! Start practicing your contouring skills now!

Make a Statement with Jewellery from Benna!

When it comes to jewellery, as much as I love the thought of someone presenting me with beautiful fine diamonds, I must admit, I am much more of a Big Chunky Statement Jewellery Girl! That’s not to say that I will settle for a £10 piece of Jewellery, I still like my Statement Jewellery to be well made and actually do what its name suggests and MAKE A STATEMENT!

Benna.co.uk Statement Jewellery

One of my favourite websites for Statement Jewellery, is Benna.co.uk. They stock such a variety of statement jewellery so you are guaranteed a diverse selection to keep you on your toes. The only problem is actually choosing what you want!

Some of my most coveted pieces are the Statement Necklaces by Mawi London – The brand is known for its luxurious statement necklaces that seem to transcend seasonal trends, appealing to all ages and tastes. The collection is stunning laced with pearls, sapphires and more. Have a look at this gorgeous statement necklace!

The grey pearl and sapphire skull necklace is from the heirloom collection by Mawi London. One of their classic necklaces and worn by Alexa Chung this little number is great for daytime or party wear. Smoked crystals and chain encircle grey pearls finished with a huge crystal and skull. Rock and roll baubles with a vintage feel.

Another favourite designer I have from Benna is Monica Vinader. Her pieces are the total opposite from the Mawi collection, but stunning and eye-catching none the less.  Spanish designer –  Monica Vinader works from a converted barn in the Norfolk countryside. Inspired by her travels, nature and colour, she works with hand cut semi-precious stones to produce beautiful pieces in an array of colour.

I think you will agree that, even in its simplicity the Gold Monica Vinader Jewellery oozes beauty and sophistication.

My favourite from the Vinader collection at the moment has to be this range of diamond rings and although I am usually a lover of all things Silver or White Gold, I am definitely more drawn to the Rose Gold in this, it is undeniably gorgeous!  This Ring is available in Silver, Rose Gold and Yellow Gold.
