One of the biggest trends defining spring / summer 2013 is quirky stripes! You can’t look anywhere without seeing them and the best part is, there are so many that it would be difficult to find something that doesn’t suit you! Stand out in striking stripes this season no matter the occasion!
I just love when trends team up and nautical is a trend that’s been going for the last few seasons. This necklace is handmade by a local Irish designer and can be customised to suit any look by changing colour, style or length! What’s not to love!
Satchels have been very much on trend for the last few seasons so it’s fantastic to find an item that hits two trends at once! This item is great to add a trendy up-to-date look to an existing item. If I were you, I would go crazy and match with a bright pink or yellow dress!
More of a beauty girl than a fashion girl? Then you’re in luck, we have just the thing for you to get your fix. These very cool nail transfers are an easy way to get the trend everyone is raving about without having to break the bank. Wear with a cute light shirt, black trousers and a colour block bag to be office chic.
These super skinny jeans really appeal to the rock chick in me. I’ve always loved a beetle juice inspired jean, but I’m falling madly in love with these cool purple ones from house of Holland. They are so versatile yet still striking that the looks you could create from these are endless.
One of the strangest spring / summer trends I’ve ever seen has to be leather look garments, in saying that, it weirdly works! Don’t go all Goth though, team up with cute short shorts or bright pink jeans to keep that summer feeling alive!
This 1950s shaped dress is very flattering on most body shapes and is key on trend with its block colours and bold stripes. Great for a wedding reception or a evening holiday dress. The cotton material means its breathable for even the hottest of weather.

Vivienne Westwood Anglomania for Lee Wallace Kilt in Denim
I love this modern version of the Scottish Kilt. This denim kilt skirt by Vivienne Westwood Anglomania for Lee Wallace has been crafted from pure cotton denim which gives that traditional kilt that edgy feel. The skirt is fitted and high waisted with the branded button fly fastening for extra detail with extended belt loops and a wrap front and knife pleats to the reverse. This skirt can be worn with a lot of things because of its denim look; I would stick to the edgy feel by wearing this kilt with a printed skull top with a pair of converse for that casual rock chick look.
The details include: contrast stitched seams, a fitted high waist with branded button fly fastening, extended belt loops, a wrap front and knife pleats to the reverse. The skirt has been cut with a regular fit.
Short Pleated Wool Kilt by J.W. Anderson for Topshop
This short pleated Wool kilt by J.W. Anderson for Topshop has a real Gothic school girl look to it which is perfect if you want to Goth it up this A/W! I would team this Gothic cutie with a black and white striped jumper and some black knee high socks and a pair of patent stilettos for that Gothic school girl look and why not check out the designers own jumpers which will look perfect with this kilt!
H! By Henry Holland
Blue check kilt
If you thought that Mr Holland’s tights were wacky, then you’ll love this super colourful kilt from the designers brand. This kilt has a blue and red checked design with a frilled wrap over trim and two buckle fastenings. This is a super vibrant kilt and would look gorgeous with a quirky tee with some of the House of Holland tights and a pair of ankle boots to finish of the look.
Warehouse Check Pleat kilt
If you like to work the darker tones then you’ll love this super sweet grey and black checked kilt skirt by Warehouse at Debenhams! I would wear this kilt with a light grey V-Neck sweater and if you’d like a little pop of colour to give the ensemble that little extra umph then I’d wear a brightly coloured polo shirt underneath the sweater only showing the collar for that layered up look also!
Karen Millen Knitted Dress with Kilt Skirt
WAS £160.00 NOW £80.00
This dress by Karen Millen is perfect if you just want an aspect of the traditional kilt, this dress has been crafted from a fine gauge kit which is simply Devine. The dress has a scoop neckline with a contrast colour block line design drop waist with a pleated kilt style skirt and an exposed zip closure to reverse for extra detail. I think this dress would be perfect with a pair of sheer tights and a pair of stilettos for that sultry look.
