As promised, this week I am reviewing an instant tan. This means that once applied, the tan is instantly visible and as dark as it will get. It does not gradually develop and become darker, instead it goes on the shade that it will stay. There are many positives to this, for example, if you’re going out last minute and haven’t prepared days in advance with your gradual tan, you can simply apply an instant tan, and off you go, looking as if you’ve been laying on a beach in Hawaii for the last 72 hours!
A lot of people have concerns about instant fake tan. As it is INSTANT it does require a very speedy and focused application, there is no room for error. However, as I always say, if you do have a streak or any uneven patches, just rub in some moisturiser and you can easily even it out. The best way to apply an instant tan is with a mitt. Simply squirt a penny sized amount of tan onto the mitt and rub into the skin in circular motions. Do not go over the same section several times as this creates smears. Just trust that you have done a good enough job the first time! And you always have your moisturiser at hand if anything isn’t as perfect as you want.
I have chosen to review this instant tan for one reason, it is waterproof! Anyone that has used an instant fake tan in the past will know that as wonderful a creation it is, you have to be very careful not to be caught out in the rain, to spill a drink on yourself, or to come into contact with liquids at all. This tan makes life as a whole lot easier!
I have used Rimmel tanning products for years, and they are all great. But recently I discovered this one, and I have fallen in love with them all over again! The first thing you will notice is that there is little to no smell. When applying the tan the only smell you may get is comparable to sun cream, which is hardly offensive and brings back sweet holiday memories.
As far as the application goes, this is one of the easier instant fake tans to apply. The consistency is slightly thicker than most which means it does not run away and is easy to control. Leaving you with an immediate, flawless and streak free tan. And once applied, it dries within seconds so will not stain any of your much loved clothes. Your skin feels soft, not sticky and the tan will last up to 24 hours. This is very rare with an instant tan as most would have been splashed or rubbed off after several hours.
I have never come across such a reliable instant fake tan. When wearing this lotion you can feel much more confident facing the elements of a day/night out or party. Spilled drinks? No Problem. Light rain? No problem. I don’t know how it does it, but this tan is a trusty little weapon which ensures you stay perfectly tanned all day and all night long. And after the fun and festivities, simply wash with soap and water to remove.
This tan comes in Light Matte and Medium Matte. I have dark features and always go for the Medium Matte. But the Light Matte is still effective and ensures a very healthy glow. Both shades look very natural and being Matte, there is no shimmer or shine, which in my opinion looks a lot more natural. And at around just £6.99 a bottle, there’s no harm in trying both shades.
Some great news is the Superdrug have this product on offer online at the moment for only £3.99!!
If you have a product you would like reviewed, I would be happy to. Just email email@example.com
