Dress of the Month ~ May

My current favourite dress is the show-stopping Chrystelle! This is not the gown for a timid bride! Chrystelle makes such a statement that you need to wear her with confidence and attitude. She is such a fun and girly princess gown, and to wear her well you definitely need a personality to match!

Chrystelle VSM7142

She features a sweetheart neckline, a pleated organza bodice which fits long onto the hips, a lace up back and gorgeous chunky Swarovski crystal embellishment at the waist. The very full skirt is made up of hundreds of curls of organza cascading into a very long train.

Since there is so much fabric in the skirt this gown is best when worn with a hooped petticoat underneath. The addition of a hoop won’t make the skirt fuller (unless you chose a full skirted petticoat) but it will make it easier to walk and manoeuvre without the interference of fabric collapsing between your feet. One of my pet hates is to see a bride struggling to walk in her dress, especially on the all-important walk down the aisle, I prefer it to look like she is gliding down the aisle and the addition of a petticoat definitely helps to achieve this effect.  Since there is so much skirt you do need to consider things like the kind of wedding car you are having and also be aware that trips to the bathroom will definitely need assistance.

The frothy layers of ruffled frills make such a fun and extravagant statement that I absolutely love it when girls chose to try on Chrystelle! She’s a gown that oven gets overlooked on our rails, possibly because she takes up so much room! But once you try her on magic happens!

This gown works fantastically on tall and curvy girls, but more petite girls can make this gown work with careful alterations of the skirt volume.

If you love the look of this wedding dress be brave and get ready for people to talk about your wedding dress!
