Festival Hair Guide

Whether you are heading to Leeds, Reading or embracing the mud at Glastonbury this summer, here are a few hair-inspiration looks from www.pauls-hair-world.co.uk to help you look as glamorous (as possible) and have the time of your life at this year’s festivals…Beautyworks Flower Braided Head Band

Perfect Plaits
Fishtail plaits, skinny plaits and plait headbands will always remain as festival hair staples, and the good news is that the look is so quick and easy to create – ideal for getting your hair look sorted in the tent! At Pauls Hair World, we love the Beauty Works Flower Braided Headband – with a classic plaited design, this headband also features colourful flower detailing, simply add over curled or waved hair for instant hippy chic style.

Beachy Waves
Nothing says festival chic quite like flowing waves. To pull off the look yourself, style your hair into loose waves with a waving iron – once you are at the festival, make sure you keep those waves refreshed with a regular blast of dry shampoo and extra hold hairspray.

Ombre Cool
Ombre was popular last summer, and with festival-goers embracing the look yet again it seems that the dip dye trend is still reigning high! If you don’t fancy braving the bleach, you can achieve the ombre look temporarily by clipping in some American Dream Quickfix Dip Dye Clip-in Hair Extensions. In an 18” length, these colourful ombre extensions can be simply clipped in for festival favourite dip dye hair in an instant.

Make sure your hair is festival-ready this summer by checking out hair extensions, hair accessories and hair styling tools available to buy online at Pauls Hair World.

Swimsuit Styles to Flatter Your Body Shape

Every girl wants to make sure she looks her most fabulous self on the beach. While we all preen ourselves to perfection to get our body bikini ready, the fact remains that, despite our best efforts, some bikinis and swimsuits only suit certain body shapes.

From bandeaus and halter necks to high-waist briefs and tankinis, the high street is filled with swimwear of all styles but how do you choose the right swimwear to suit your body shape? Swimwear specialists Zoggs have shared their essential swimwear style guide, helping you choose the perfect swimwear that will both flatter and compliment your body shape this summer…

If you’re athletic…
Despite being lucky to have a toned and slender bod, you may still struggle to find flattering swimwear!  Athletic body shapes are best avoiding bandeau styles in favour of bust enhancing halter necks. To add the illusion of curves, choose bikinis that feature ruffled detailing around the hips.

If you’re bigger on top…
If you have a larger chest then to make sure your figure gets the flattering fit it deserves by choosing bikinis that have supportive wiring under the cups. Pick the right size to ensure the bikini top fits you comfortably and opt for wide-apart straps for extra support. Any bikini bottoms that feature details such as embellishment or ties will draw attention away from your top half.

Pear shapes…
Petite on top with feminine hips, the pear shape is one of the most common body types. To balance out your body, boost your curves with swimwear that features detailing on the top half. Bikini bottoms that feature waist detail such as tied sides will divert attention from your hips and bottom – Click here for an example of perfect pear shape swimwear.

Apple Shapes…
If the majority of your weight is carried on your waist then you are a classic apple shape. To visually lessen the depth of your stomach, emphasise your bust by pushing it upwards and forwards with an underwired or padded bikini top. Alternatively, opt for a one piece swimsuit, which will help create the illusion of a flatter stomach. Supported swimsuits are also a great alternative to add extra support and shaping on the beach.

If you’re pregnant…
If you are enjoying a pre-baby holiday this summer, even though your figure will have changed, there is a huge array of stylish maternity swimwear designed to flatter your blossoming shape. A maternity swimsuit or tankini will show off your baby bump which will make everything else look smaller as a result!

Wedding Planning Resources List to help you plan with ease.

I could chat for days about wedding planning! My head is so full of ideas and suggestions for making planning your wedding easy and straightforward, that I could bore you to sleep!

So I have compiled my most useful tips and resources to help you plan your wedding and keep yourself organised and efficient.

1. Visit local wedding fayres.                                                                                                  They really are the best resource for finding local companies who can help bring your wedding vision to life, and are an amazing resource for inspiration when you are right at the beginning of wedding planning. I’ve already blogged about how to navigate and make the most of wedding fayres. Click here to view it.tumblr_lumj1uNZ8V1qetqi6o1_400

2. Buy some wedding magazines.                                                                              My favourites are the local magazines, as they’ll give you a better idea of what is available locally, and are chock full of articles, inspiration and real life weddings too! Most also have a planning calendar section which you can pull out and use as the basis for your planning strategy and will help you organise your spending too.

3. Speak with other brides to be and past brides.                                     Share ideas and recommendations and help each other out. Facebook and Twitter can be really good to help you start the conversation!

4. Check out wedding related programmes on T.V.                                Most of the wedding programmes around are a bit too scandal oriented and outrageous so don’t have much value for gathering ideas, but I really rate programmes like David Tutera’s My Fair Wedding on Wedding TV. Granted he has a pretty limitless budget for the weddings he creates but they are utterly spectacular!

5. Have a nosey online!                                                                                                              Now I really could talk for hours about everything you can spot and use for your wedding on the internet! It’s full of all kinds of amazing things and the best bit about it is that it’s free! It’s easy to be overwhelmed so I’ve done the sifting and searching and here are my top recommendations.

Check out wedding planning websites with communities of brides-to-be such as Confetti,  Hitched, You and Your Wedding,  Weddings Online Ireland.  These are the perfect place to search for suggestions and ask questions from other brides to be!

Another fabulous type of resource are wedding blogs! My all time favourites are the gorgeous Style Me Pretty and Love My Dress but I also love Rock My Wedding.

Some of the best wedding planning sites with creative ideas for DIY brides are The Knot and Martha Stewart Weddings.f9b3c443e172a7a6742a137b9f4c144b

My own ultimate favourite is PINterest. I’ve been gawping at wedding inspiration boards on there for a long time now! I am a very visual person so I find it to be the most amazing resource for everything from dress ideas to make-up and hair looks.

6. My most useful tip is to buy yourself a gorgeous planning file to keep all your notes together.                                                                                                                                                                     It doesn’t have to be specifically a wedding planning binder, but try to find something that is pretty and compact enough to pop in your handbag. Use it to categorize your planning strategy and file all your ideas in the beginning, to keep swatches, receipts and vendor contracts safe throughout planning, and as a lovely memento to keep when your wedding is over.

Wedding Plan Folder

My favourite wedding planning files are the cute and kitschy ones stocked in Paperchase. Create a special folder on your smartphone! Take pictures of pretty things you spot and file your on the go notes in your little planning folder.

You really can find inspiration in all kinds of places, the key is to make a note of your ideas and thoughts before they drop out of your head! I’d love to hear your top tips for wedding planning and if you have any suggestions for useful resources!
